The new normal in shipbuilding

Around the globe, sustainability has become a topical subject in the shipping sector and new stringent regulations are coming into force. Damen operates in many different markets by designing and building all type of ships. This gives us the opportunity to apply many green technologies across our large portfolio: green fuel cargo vessels; hybrid or full electric ferries, ropax and tugboats; IMO Tier III retrofit solutions; digital services to increase efficiency and lower fuel consumption and emissions. The demand for low emissions vessels has strongly increasing during the past five years, so green is the new normal at Damen, but there is no single solution that fits for all applications. Different markets require various sustainable responses to their dynamics.
